Turning to God’s Word study group
San Francisco Bay Area, California
SCRIPTURE & THE ROSARY
Women’s Catholic Scripture Study in Belmont, California, is a group of women of all ages from parishes around the San Francisco Bay Area who come together to study the Word of God. This study group began in the fall of 2003 with a small group of women and has been with Turning to God’s Word for a number of years. The study splits into small groups for discussion and gathers as a large group for the opening session and the wrap-up reflection. Participants prepare by reading the Bible passages and the lesson pages along with prayer. Writing out responses to the questions is optional.
The coordinator and small-group discussion leader is Janet Shurtz (left). Assistant coordinator and small-group discussion leader is Martha Rubio (right). The group meets on Thursdays from 9:45 a.m. to noon at St. Mark Catholic Church, 325 Marine View Avenue, Belmont, California. From Highway 101: Exit Ralston/Belmont, go West to the first traffic light on Ralston (Hiller), turn right on Hiller, then right on Marine View.
The group is thankful for the hospitality shown by St. Mark Catholic Church. Located close to the freeway with a large parking lot and spacious hall, it’s a convenient location for women from all around the San Francisco Bay Area to come together and study God’s Word.
